La Penita de Jaltemba, simply known as Las Penita, is a seaside brick-making village that perches on the sandy edge of the Bay of Jaltemba along the shores of Nayarit. The beach is broad and clean, with surf good for swimming, body surfing, and boogie boarding. Afternoon winds are often brisk enough for sailing and wind surfing, and snorkeling and scuba are excellent at Isla Islote.

The scene is vintage and proves a taste of the good life in this little slice of paradise. You will experience long dusty roads lined with rustic accommodations and roadside stands offering local fare and a feast of tropical fruit, snapshots of sleeping dogs and kids playing.  The beautiful seashore accommodates boats beached on the sand under swaying palms and pelicans lounging or busy catching their daily meal.
